"The Best We Could Do" and Refreshing Salad Rolls

In this experience we combine the graphic novel:  "The Best We Could Do" written by Thi Bui with Vietnamese Salad Roll making and storytelling by In My Kitchen host Raymond.

After reading the novel, gather your group for a cooking class via zoom and hear the stories of Raymond's own journey as a refugee from Vietnam to Canada. In My Kitchen Founder Paula Mohammed will facilitate your cooking class book club offering a unique opportunity to compare and contrast the journey of the author and that of Raymond.  Allowing you to go a step further than the traditional book club discussion.   Raymond will teach you his family recipe for salad roll making creating space for discussion and storytelling.

This is only offered as a private culinary adventure and a minimum of 6 registrations is required.

The Best We Could Graphic Novel is available from the In My Kitchen Cookbook Club here

This culinary adventure makes for a  memorable experience for book clubs, team building or a gathering of friends from nearby and far away.

The Best We Could Do is a 2017 illustrated memoir written by Thi Bui. It chronicles Thi Bui's parents' life before and during the Vietnam War, their escape from Vietnam when Bui was a child, and their eventual migration to the United States as refugees.
